Olivia Trummer has announced a second appearance while she is in Dublin to open for Jazz superstar Charles Lloyd. On Sunday 16th November she will play an intimate gig at JJ’s Smyth’s at 5pm. When asked Olivia said, “ JJ’s is the spiritual home of Jazz in Dublin and it’s on the list of must-play venues in Europe. I fell in love with JJ’s charm the first time I was there on my tour in 2013”. This is a great opportunity to see this sensational singer/songwriter composer who has been dubbed the Norah Jones of Europe. Tickets €12.00
Olivia is a native of Germany but she has divided her time over the last number of years between New York and Berlin. She is a recipient of the German Young Musician of the year award on five occasions and she has performed in venues as illustrious as Carnegie Hall and performed with notable artists such as Bobby McFerrin and Jimmy Cobb. Olivia first appeared in Ireland at the 12 Points Festival in February 2013. She went on to do a tour of Ireland in October that year which was a phenomenal success. She is joined on stage by Dave Redmond on Bass and Kevin Brady on drums. This is a wonderful chance to see her perform in the intimate surrounds of JJ Smyth’s before she takes to the main stage in the NCH a couple of nights later.
